  • Price falls in four and five star hotels benefitted Indians: HPI Survey

  • As per the Hotel Price Index (HPI) report by Hotels.com, Indians benefitted from price falls in four and five star hotels around the world in the first half of 2013. The report reveals that London saw the steepest fall at 20 per cent for five-star hotel rooms, falling to Rs 22,653. Moreover, Indian capital city of New Delhi saw the second steepest fall down to 14 per cent at Rs 9,433 followed by Mumbai down 10 per cent to Rs 10,123 for 5-star rooms.

     


    Zurich led the way in the 4-star range, sliding 14 per cent to Rs 10,644, followed by San Francisco seeing an 11 per cent drop to Rs 12,511. Other European fallers were Prague, down 10 per cent to Rs 5,727, Amsterdam down eight per cent to Rs 9,959 and Berlin down five per cent to Rs 6,959. Two Indian cities also featured in this category with Delhi down 10 per cent to Rs 6,612 and Mumbai down five per cent to Rs 7,343.
