Settle into luxury

Bengaluru Marriott Hotel Whitefield has always been amongst the stellar performing hotels of the city. For the current year, the average occupancy of the hotel has been around 81 per cent YTD with a YOY growth of 3.5 per cent. Sandeep Sahdev, Director Sales & marketing, Bengaluru Marriott Hotel Whitefield throws light on the MICE deliverables that the property offers.

The Indian hospitality industry rode impressive growth rates over the last couple of years on the back of increasing number of meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) across several cities in India. For us, Bengaluru still leads the charts with Bengaluru Marriott Hotel Whitefield being a preferred destination for luxury events, high-end incentives, weddings and corporate off-sites. The hotel is well equipped with both outdoor and indoor meeting spaces with one of the largest ballrooms in the city of around 6400 sq ft in size and can easily accommodate 800 people in a theatre style seating and 250 people in a cluster style setting. Adding to it Sandeep Sahdev says, “We also have the option of breaking out our spaces into three equal halves which allows us to host events simultaneously. We have open spaces as well which include the pool side deck and pool side lawn. The outdoor spaces are suitable venue options for either a private cocktail dinner or a social gathering of around 350-400 pax. The alfresco area of our Italian restaurant, Alto Vino and pre function area adds as a supporting area to the main set of venues.”

Bengaluru Marriott Hotel Whitefield’s location acts as a key player, Whitefield as an area is seeing a churn in terms of demand. In 2018, the supply was seen increasing but overtime it is observed that the demand is also been increasing at the same pace. The main reason for this sharp turn in demand is due to the upcoming tech parks in Bengaluru as the cluster. The companies have been growing within themselves, consolidating or expanding their level of operations which in turn increases the demand for room nights.

Bengaluru Marriott Hotel Whitefield has continued to upgrade their facilities with more outdoor venues and by investing in the renovation of rooms, upgrading the look and layout of the banquet venues and with an increased focus on banquet food quality. “The digital space is another platform that the hotel has been using to influence decisions of guests for selecting venues for events and conferences. This is done by reaching out to the source markets using advertising, social media and capitalising on MICE trade fairs and digital marketing activities to enhance our presence in these key markets,” mentions Sandeep Sahdev.
